HEALTHY BREAKFAST IDEAS
We all
know the fact that breakfast is an important meal in a day and we
shouldn't skip it. But how many of us put this into action? The main
excuse we have for skipping our daily breakfast is the lack of time.
In this post, I am going to share with you some quick, easy to make
breakfast ideas and after reading this, you don't have any excuse to
skip your breakfast!! :D
1.
Green Smoothie:
Green
Smoothie is one of the easiest breakfast ideas. Packed with vitamins,
minerals and other healthy nutrients, a morning smoothie blast is the
perfect option for on the go breakfast. It keeps you full for few
hours and you feel instantly energized. Here is my favorite recipe
for green smoothie: I grab a cup of spinach and a cup of frozen
pineapple(I freeze them overnight). Then, I throw in some flax seeds
and chia seeds for those extra toppings. For the liquids, I choose
almond milk and water. Add a dash of honey to sweeten it up and
BLEND!! There you go.. your yummy, healthy breakfast is ready in less
than 2 mins!! Pour it into a mason jar and take it with you wherever
you go.
2.
Brown Rice Egg Dosa:
This recipe needs an
initial preparation. But if you do the ground work on weekends, you
can enjoy these delicious dosas all round the week by spending just a
couple of minutes. Over the weekend, all you need to do is to soak 2
cups of brown rice and 1 cup of urad dal separately overnight. In the
morning, grind them using your regular blender until you are left
with smooth, fluffy batter. The blending work shouldn't take much
time as you are soaking the grains overnight. With a decent blender,
batter preparation doesn't take you more than 10 mins. Once you are
done, put the vessel containing the batter in microwave with the door
slightly open so that the light is on. This light helps in boosting
the fermentation process. Leave this for 12 hrs and once the
fermentation is complete, you will see that the batter level in the
container has risen. Now, put this batter in a airtight container and
place it in the refrigerator. During the weekdays, take out the
quantity you need and add a pinch of salt depending on your taste.
Drizzle a little bit of olive oil onto the pan and pour the batter onto the pan and spread it thin. The process is
almost similar to making pancakes but spread the batter thin for
this. Break an egg and spread it over the dosa immediately after
spreading the batter, if you like some extra boost of protein. Flip
it over just like an omlette. It should take you less than 5 mins in
the morning!! If you are wondering where to find Urad dal, your
local indian grocery store has it. Also, you can add half a cup of
oat meal powder to the batter. You can store this batter in the
fridge for up to a week!! If you would like a separate post in detail
on how to make this, let me know in the comments.
3. Whole Grain Bread
with Banana And Honey:
Depending on the
size of the bread, take one or two slices of whole grain bread.
Spread a layer of honey over it. Cut a banana into thin slices and
place them on the bread one after the other. This should satisfy your
sweet cravings in the morning and gives you instant energy. Also,
keeps you fill for a longer time.
4. Fruit Bowl:
If you are in a
super lazy mood and don't even feel like spending those 2-3 minutes
in preparing your breakfast, even then, you don't have to starve or
choose unhealthy options!! Because I have a super duper idea for you.
Just grab some fruits like strawberries, bananas, blueberries..
literally whatever fruit u feel like having!! There you go...heads up
for the world's easiest and healthiest breakfast idea!!
